I truly enjoyed taking photos of my friend Katherine & her awesome fiance Corey! Here is a short blurb about their love story, as well as highlights from their engagement session. Enjoy!
“I would say that the love & respect that we have for God is what brought us together. Corey & I were friends for years before we began dating on June 23rd, 2015. We talked on the phone, texted & went on a couple of dates, but then decided to hold off on pursuing anything further until we both had a better handle on issues with the people that we were both with previously. We stayed in contact as friends until everything was worked out. One conversation that always stood out to me was when we walked down the shore of Rockaway Beach together. We opened up to one another about our relationships with God & expressed how the next person we would date would have to have a committed relationship with God as well. A few weeks after that conversation, Corey asked if I would be his prayer partner as well as his girlfriend. Fast forward to 2018, my son loves having Corey around (he considers him to be his best friend). I love having Corey’s children over for visits as well! For my 30th birthday this past February, I was given the surprise of my life. Corey took me out on a romantic dinner, got down one his knee & asked me to marry him. Needless to say, I said yes!”
Here is my last engagement shoot of 2017. I got to take photos of a friend & her fiancé at a beautiful (& freezing!) location in New Milford, Connecticut. Here is a short blurb about the couple and some highlights from their session. Enjoy!
"Cliche as it sounds, no other phrase seems truer than this: we are a match made in heaven- A product of prayers, seeking God and patiently waiting for His response. When I stop and think of God’s faithfulness in bringing this wonderful man into my life, I am in complete awe of how God has heard even the seemingly insignificant prayers, and has truly blessed me with the desires of my heart.
Giuseppe and I met in the winter of 2016. It wasn't until I first saw him during Sunday Service at Christ Tabernacle church that I knew there was something special about him. Watching him worship right beside me was and still is my favorite activity together. From our first dates where he proved to be a perfect gentleman, to our long talks about life’s hardest topics, to random dances under the christmas lights while listening to jazz at the mall, to the impromptu tree climbs and our first missionary trip together, 2017 has been nothing but a blessing alongside him. And still, the best is yet to come. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my favorite weirdo. ❤"
On June 3rd, I had the honor of photographing 2 friends of mine who will be getting married early next year. Here is their love story & highlights from their session. Enjoy!
A singer meets her bass player for the night's concert and little did she think then that the ring of his name would forevermore be the sound of her love song.
That's how it feels to be engaged now, three years into our relationship. I met Norbi at a concert I had to sing at May 2013, the same year I released my first Christian album. It seems that was the year my greatest dreams came true. While being wrapped up in the musical work I was doing, God was working backstage on another very important story, my love story. While it was not love at first sight, the magical thing about it all, was how falling in love with this man snuck up on me ever so mysteriously. I didn't know how so quickly I could become best friends with this charming, funny, and sweet man. It's unexplainable how three months of friendship would spark an even greater and ever-growing passion. As our relationship grew, I discovered that Norbi was the strongest, passionate, kind, responsible, generous and most loving man I had ever met, and I knew I would never trade him in for anything else in the world.
We started going out December 2013 and that was the best Christmas present, until December of this year 2016, the Winter Solstice, exactly 4 days before Christmas and one week before our third anniversary. He proposed to me at Blend on the Water in Long Island City at the sight of the New York City Skyline, one of my favorite sights, in the presence of one of my best friends Angeris and her husband John. I was shocked. After all, I thought that my friend and I had planned the evening's double date. But they had planned this all along...How sneaky yet so clever! I will not forget the dimmed lights, the grand windows that I peered through to watch the skyline, while laughing with my loved ones. Better yet, I will not forget how suddenly my laughter turned to utter shock and confusion saying "really?!!!" when they brought sparklers to our table. My thoughts went from "wait, whose birthday is it?" to staring at Angeris camera thinking "why is that pointed at me?" I read, "Will you grow old with me?" on a dessert plate and heard John Legend's "All of Me" fill the room, and it clicked. I suddenly searched for the eyes of my beloved who shuffled and nervously stumbled to his knees to hold up the ring towards me. Clapping and shouts filled the room but all I could think at that moment was, "yes baby! our time is here!"
And the rest is history. Our love story is more like my theme song, it is timeless, it is classic and it runs through my heart, my mind and soul as a song of gratitude to God above for blessing me with the greatest gift of all.
I want to end by saying that this is not just a timeless story but a testimony of the reality of God's hand working in the lives of mankind. We experience the depth of God love through experiences like these that change our lives and helps us understand that good things really do come to those whose hope is in the Lord.
I got to take photos of my good friend Joanna & her fiancé Brayan. We enjoyed an awesome day in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Here is a short blurb on their love story & highlights from their session. Enjoy!
Brayan and I have attended the same church for over 2 years, but I never spoke to him. Our interaction was always on a hi and bye basis. One day, out of the blue, he approached me and said he couldn't hold in his feelings anymore for me and asked me out. He even said he felt in his heart that he was the man that God had for me to make me happy forever, which I didn't believe! Needless to say, I gave him a chance anyway and we totally hit it off. On the day that he proposed, he took me to the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park for dinner. When it was time for dessert, the waiter brought out a beautiful plate with 'Will you marry me' written in caramel around the edge. The dessert was topped with a strawberry and the ring placed in the strawberry. I was completely speechless and even thought that they had brought the plate to the wrong table! I said yes and I am so excited for what God has in store for us as a couple!
